Instant Pot has become a very popular and handy kitchen appliance that we all love. But we also need to keep it clean (I mean the safe way), so this miracle and rescue cooker can last us a long time. Here is a Super Easy Way to Clean Instant Pot (the Stainless Steel Inner Pot) you will thank me later for!
Cleaning Instant Pot is super easy! Each piece and parts of it require different cleaning steps and supplies. But sometimes due to a lack of knowledge on how to properly do a deep cleaning of this wonderful appliance, we can have uncorrectable results.
So, in this post, I will share how to clean those dark and rainbowy looking stains of the stainless steel inner part of the Instant Pot.
Even though the Instant Pot cleaning instructions in the manual book do recommend washing the inner pot in the dishwasher, I personally do not recommend it.
The first reason being is that it takes a lot of space in such a small dishwasher.
Second, the dishwasher will not clean the pot as well as you will by hand using just a few simple supplies like baking soda, a little bit of soap, and a teaspoon of vinegar if necessary.
As the pot gets older or used very frequently, the stains are much tougher to remove from the pot, and sometimes you will need to repeat the cleaning step by using baking soda and vinegar.

Add 2 heaping tablespoons of baking soda into the stainless steel inner pot.
Wet a non-scratch sponge (damp not dripping wet) and lightly scrub/polish the stainless steel inner pot with baking soda.
Rinse well with warm water. Then wash the pot once more just using soap and warm water.
Wipe the pot with a clean microfiber towel.
That's it!

You are certainly very welcome! No, I don't cook condensed milk in cans at all do to aluminum exposure. First, I transfer condensed milk from cans into glass jars before cooking in an Instant Pot.
